Simple thoughts

Sometimes we overcomplicate the simplest things in life with too many words and too many thoughts.  This act has been labeled Procrastination, Excuses, Stalling, Caution, Strategy etc. OH and verbal masturbation LMAO

Honestly, we know it’s really fear. Fear that what we are choosing to embark upon is unknown to us. We have contemplated and decided to step outside our comfort zones, boxes or whatever to grow. Then we stop (or pause) … in Fear.

Simple Fear

It is said the only thing that can conquer fear is love. They can not exist in the same place. That “place” that either exists is in our hearts.  And when we are full of fear, we can’t hear any rationalizations, explanations or solutions to encountering the unknown.

As I walked outside in this beautiful weather we had in Houston yesterday listening to audio lectures and so forth I was halted in my tracks with this…

IF you give into your fears, you won’t be able to talk to your heart

And your heart is where all your dreams and desires reside but fear can be so loud that you won’t be able to communicate with those dreams and desires.

Can you hear and speak to your heart?

  1. Most definitely, you can hear and speak to your heart. Your heart can create fear and your fear can have an impact on your heart. Let’s use a job opportunity as an example. You’re been offered your dream job but this job is in another country. Your heart may say you’ve got to take the job, it’s what you asked for, I’m going to accept it. At the same time, your fear may be screaming “There is no way you can do this! Where am I going to live? I don’t know the language. What am I going to do about my hair (black woman humor lol)? What if I don’t like the job, then what will I do IN ANOTHER COUNTRY?” Scared AF you take the job, move to a new country be alright.

This is how I moved from CA to TX.

Hearing and speaking to your heart happen at the same time. Fear often provokes a person to take action in one’s heart.

  2. Cristal, thank you for sharing however in my opinion, your mind creates the fear or as some would say… the Ego does. Your soul/heart is where the desire originated.. Wanting something more and different however your mind manifest all these excuses and false evidence appearing real (fear. Ha ha ) to silence the desire me of your heart. Only when we are able to quiet or ignore that fear will we have the courage to pursue what’s in our heart. It’s often the mind (as they teach in meditation) that will create all this noise. Which is why it is suggested to learn to quiet the mind so we can hear what our soul (heart) is saying.

Soooo we moving to another country? *wink

    1. Funny you should mention me moving to another country. This has been one of my… don’t want to call it a goal cuz I don’t care for goals so I’ll say, on my to-do list. And I didn’t realize the paragraph I typed was the same as what I did to move from CA to TX; it just came thru my fingers. So maybe, subconsciously, my response was to revisit my move.

Ok, back to your response…so how do you quiet and/or ignore your fear to have the courage to pursue what’s in your heart? Why can’t they exist at the same time? I’ve never known anyone to quiet their mind but I don’t know everyone lol Finally, who gave fear a bad name? I think there is an assumption the fear means you will not make a move towards what your heart desires and this is not true.

      1. Meditation. Imagine providing your mind one activity to focus upon. This leaves room for all the noise (conversations etc) it creates to eventually quiet enough ton not be bothersome. The idea is to use the tool of meditation to quiet all the noise going on in your mind on a daily basis. It’s not necessarily about ignoring your fear. It’s not letting it take over. Can courage and fear exist at the same time? Well you tell me? How does that work? Fear, causes one to stop and not move forward. Courage or being brave is about moving beyond what one is fearful. Can that exist in the same space? *shoulder shrug. I’m sure there are always exceptions. However which one does a person give in to is key. As for Fear having a bad name. One’s mind dictates what’s good or bad so it’s different for each person. Is it fear that moves or holds a person towards (or away from) their hearts desire? Could it be something else? Curiosity? The curiosity to experience what it would be like in another place or state of being?

Now one might say “well I’m scared or fearful to NOT know what it might be like to pursue my dreams?” again is it really fear that propels you? or is it the curiosity of fulfilling a dream? Fear is a valid emotion in my opinion however everything in moderation is better. IT’s the imbalance within a person’s being that creates the challenges. I have no idea if any of that made sense. LOL

  3. Yes, everything you said made sense. 🙂 I think the difference between our perspectives is that I believe you can experience all emotions simultaneously and all emotions, including fear, can cause you to act on your heart’s desire(s). You can have fear, be brave, be curious, be happy, be sad, etc. all at the same time.

Fear in moderation…I’ve never thought of experiencing any emotion in moderation. I just let them flow lol it’s my greatest strength.
