Spring tings

Life happens no matter how we attempt to map it out; plan it out;
organize it or avoid it. We either learn to ride or we get ridden. LOL.

I know, it’s been a minute,

So, 2019 first quarter updates: I set a moderate amount of goals and accomplished most of them; however not without challenges. Let’s talk about what I feel successful about first;

  • I completed a 21 day detox in January and eliminated 18lbs of toxins and lbs.
  • I formulated and implemented new boundaries in relationships and well, they ended. Funny how that happens, right?
  • I established a vegetarian diet
  • I maintained some daily routines
  • I completed a session of advanced salsa lesson

Now, let me disclose what I haven’t been so successful with;

  • I stopped attending the Saturday morning meditation classes and haven’t consistently done it on my own
  • I fumbled through a transition at work that left me close to burn out and quitting
  • I have not made it to the gym to work out or ride my bike
  • I failed at giving up potatoes or potato chips – stress foods
  • I haven’t made much progress on my personal writing projects
  • Oh..I’ve only read like 2 books this year thus far, and we won’t even talk about audio books. FAIL

And now I’m here. I’m 25lbs physically lighter; closer to getting my full licensure status and maintaining a new habit of taking a trip somewhere every month to manage my mental wellness. Not bad. I’m definitely becoming more and more me. (whoever she is!) Breaking the habit of me has become another phase in a journey of getting older by chronological years; younger and more mature in emotions and knowledge. That last statement sounded weird right? How can I be getting younger and more mature?

I’m learning as I lighten the load in various areas of my life, it frees up more energy in me, both physically and psychologically. Sure I’m up around 5am and asleep by 10:30pm however i live a FULL ASS DAY during the hours that I’m awake. In turn, it has allowed my emotional maturity to advance. I have been able to better sift through the fluff of conversations and get to the meat. Now this isn’t always received well by others, however why waste the time sitting in excuses and stalling living?

Not everything has the capacity to grow at the same time. Seasons are purposeful and it’s beneficial to know which season you are in for your own sanity

We set goals and want to accomplish them; however, sometimes we have to recognize AND accept it’s not the SEASON for particular ideas/projects etc to manifest YET. That being said, identify what season YOU are in for the specific goals you are working on. (Planting, nurturing, weeding/waiting, harvesting) You may be surprised what you discover.

What season are you in for your goals?
